The July 2014 edition of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 98) is now on sale and, like every other month, is full of interesting stories, news and features. On the cover this month is a particularly desirable machine for many classic enthusiasts, and one with a unique history; John Pollock (no relation to the Editor!) bought this Ford Capri 3000GT XLR brand new in 1971, but when he decided to buy a newer model in 1981 he put the older one in storage, where it was to lie until 2008 when its storage garage was set for redevelopment. John’s restored it since then, and it’s now a real specimen. Our second feature car is from a very different era, a military-version 1937 Austin Seven from a time when the world was facing the prospect of war. This rare machine has been restored following its discovery sitting in a hedge on the Isle of Man!
