	Great Scot This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Hillman Imp, the unorthodox yet popular Scottishmanufactured small family car that motored its way into the hearts of over 400,000 drivers during its thirteen-year production run. To celebrate, Pat Mullan meets two enthusiastic owners with long connections with their well-restored Imps.
	Starter’s Orders We all have to start somewhere in this old vehicle game, but some of us get going in far more style than others do. Alan Hughes is a case in point, as the result of his first restoration project is a real beauty. However, he tells us the secret is to get good advice from someone with plenty of experience.
	Gunn-Play Sanglas isn’t exactly a familiar motorcycle manufacturer, particularly in Ireland, but in fact the Spanish manufacturer’s 400 Electric model served with our own Defence Forces for seven years. Philip Gunn, an ex-Defence Forces motorcycle instructor, has picked up one of these now-rare machines in his retirement, which served as a presidential escort bike in its day.
	Lonergan Star Here at Irish Vintage Scene we just love a nice family story, and our commercial feature this month really is one of those. Mark Lonergan has recently fi nished the restoration of the Guy Big J cattle truck that his father bought new in 1969, and his young son is now showing a great interest in it, as Andrew Pollock fi nds out.
	Pedal to the Metal While most of the items featured in Model Scene each month would fi t in the palm of your hand, this month we bring you something diff erent. Patrick Mullan recently visited Noel Reynolds in Co. Sligo to see his fascinating collection of pedal cars, which runs to over 100 items. Some, he’s restored with his son, Shane, so it’s a real family hobby.
