Description
The January 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 140) is now on sale, and for what is our last issue of 2017 we look at two notable cars that celebrated anniversaries in the past year. On the cover is an MG MGC, a model that only ran for two years some five decades ago now, and this rare Dublin-assembled example shows just how good this six-cylinder roadster can look. The second of our birthday cars is the redoubtable Fiat Nuovo 500, which unbelievably has been with us for sixty years now, and we mark the occasion by meeting up with a group of owners in Dublin to see what’s sparked their passion. We also catch up with an owner in the midlands to chat about his Mk1 Ford Consul, BMW 2002 Tii and 1949 Morris Minor. Both of our tractor features concern the youth of the hobby, as the first is a MF135 that’s in the custody of an 11-year-old fan in West Cork, while the second outlines the restoration of a Fordson Dexta as a transition-year project for a group of secondary school students. Our motorcycle feature this month looks a possibly unique Scott Flying Squirrel, while our commercial feature is about a late-model Austin A60 pickup that’s now in museum ownership. Event reports include the Kilkenny Classic Show, Stradbally Steam Rally, IVETA Indoor Show and many more, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your January 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
