While many vintage shows now have threshing as an attraction there is nothing to beat a little originality, and that’s exactly what happened on John & Mary Arnold’s farm in Bartlemy, Co. Cork in September 2012.
A group of locals got together early in September to harvest a field of barley John had sown, and in late September held a threshing in the farmyard with tea and refreshments being served. Everything was done just as it was in bygone days; this is the way to relive the past. Thanks to Tony Doyle from Cork, who supplied these photos.
