Antrim-man Alexander Louden and his 1939 MG TB have made the final of the 10th Meguiar’s Club Showcase, a hotly-contested competition to find the UK’s most perfect classic and vintage cars. Alexander is one of fourteen finalists whose cars will be shown at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at Birmingham’s NEC from the 13th to the 15th of November, where the overall winner will be announced by Mike Brewer of Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealers on Sunday afternoon.
Alexander explains: “It’s the only one in Northern Ireland as far as I know; they only made 379 and mine’s number 338.” He’s owned the car for 22 years; buying it at the same time as a TA and a TD. He added: “It’s been fully restored; I did most of the work myself between 1993 and 1997 and it must be one of the best left in the world. It’s been worth all the work I put into it during those four years!”
