In 2012 84 tractors converged on Ballinasloe, Co. Galway for an event held by the Ballinasloe & District Vintage Club, which aimed to set a record for the largest number of vintage finger-bar mowers working in one field at the same time. The 2nd hosting of this event took place on Saturday the 17th of August last, and while this time the weather forecast for the day was very bad and is thought to have affected numbers, a fine turnout of 62 tractors took part in the challenge.
