The North West Vintage & Heritage Club Autojumble, based at the Community Centre in Manorhamilton in Co. Leitrim on the 28th of April last, was a great success on its first time out, as Pat Mullan reported for us in a recent issue of Irish Vintage Scene Magazine, bringing us these great photos from the event.    

Billed as Northern Ireland’s premier car show, Ballymena Carfest was back for its fifty year on the 8th of June last, bigger than ever, with great weather and a massive turnout of retro and classic machinery. Stephen McEvoy was there for Retro Classics, and brings us these photos from the event.  

The popularity of road runs in this country continues to increase. On the 14th of April last, the Drumcar Vintage Run, based in Dunleer in Co. Louth, saw an incredible 232 vehicles take part. Historic military vehicles enjoy a loyal following all over the world, not least in Ireland, and one of the largest events on the calendar for these enthusiasts is the Military Vehicle Club of Ireland’s show in the Curragh, which this year was held on the 19th of May. Sunday the 21st of April this year saw the annual running of the Durrow Vintage Show. This Co. Laois event is considered by many to be the main season-opener, and is one of the very largest classic and vintage vehicle shows of any kind in the country, regularly attracting well over 1,000 exhibits. The vintage and veteran section of the Tipperary Light Car & Motorcycle Club attended the Pride of Tipperary Show on Saturday the 14th of July. Some of the town’s shop fronts also rolled back the years, and there was plenty of period clothing in evidence to match the cars. Emily Foyle brought us some great photos from the event, as can be seen here.

  Now in its 6th year, the Glenelly Vintage Steam Rally in Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone is a really impressive show, and in 2012 Irish Vintage Scene sent Stephen McEvoy for the first time to take a few snaps for us.
