Description

The October 2017 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 137) is now on sale, and is something of a celebration of small but beautifully-crafted cars. Our cover car is a beautifully-restored example of what is probably the rarest and most desirable Mini of all, the Radford Mini De Ville GT, which was the choice of many celebs and music stars in the swinging sixties, while our second car feature tells the tale of a Heinkel Kabine ‘bubble car’, one of the limited few that was built in the short-lived Heinkel factory in Dundalk in Co. Louth. Our main feature tractor this month is a Ford 3000 that’s recently been restored as a first-time project by a young enthusiast; the 3000 is a highly respected model in this country, as is the Ferguson TE20, but you’ve probably never seen one like that in our second tractor feature, which looks at a very narrow Reekie Ferguson, built in Scotland for the specialised business of berry and soft fruit farming. Our motorcycle feature this month outlines the conversion of a Honda Hawk into an elegant cafe racer, while our commercial feature is on a lovely Morris Commercials LC5 lorry Our event reports include both Gordon Bennett runs, the Shane’s Castle Steam Rally, the IMM Mini Meet and lots more, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your October 2017 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
