Description

The March 2025 issue of Irish Vintage Scene is now on sale, and on the cover is one of the most interesting barn-find stories we’ve come across in a long time – this Cork-built Ford Escort Mk1 was put in storage in a garden shed in Dublin in the early eighties and sat, forgotten about for three decades after its owner passed away. Discovered by accident by an ardent classic Ford fan, over the last few years it’s been restored back to its original condition, and is due to return to the public roads this summer. Our second feature car is a beautiful 1983 Fiat 127 Sport that was the dream car of its owner in his younger days, but required a solid two years of work to put back together to this standard.

This month’s featured tractor is a 1949 Ferguson TE20 TVO that’s been an ongoing project for its owner for about twenty years, as he fitted it in between work and family life and other restorations that were already in progress. Restored completely to an extremely high standard, it’s certainly one of the most impressive specimens of the faithful Ferguson we’ve seen in a long time. Our motorcycle feature delves into the re-commissioning process of a 1974 BMW R90S Knoscher Edition that sat dormant in a museum collection for many years, and this month’s featured commercial is a 1979 Leyland Buffalo that’s been restored as an exact replica of the example owned by the owner’s father back in the eighties. Lots of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out!
