Description

The April issue of Irish Vintage Scene. Just like our 70 previous issues it is packed with some great features: all the vintage news from around the country, the most comprehensive list of events available anywhere in Ireland and of course loads of classics for sale just waiting for someone to offer them a new home.

This month’s cover car is an early original Irish Mini. You may have heard the saying ‘Don’t judge a book by the cover’, well it’s certainly the case as you open page 30, you will notice that the cover feature is about a collection of no less than ten Minis. This amazing collection belongs to Darran Hutchinson from Co Laois who is also President of the Irish Mini Owners Club. The main tractor feature this month comes from Co Offaly, it’s a John Deere 2020 that is fresh from restoration and what an amazing job owner, Cormac Plunkett, has done on it! Motorcycle fans are in for a treat this month as we get to see one of the rarest collections in Ireland, and indeed in the world. This collection belongs to an anonymous private Irish collector and with all the bikes being pre 1930 it’s a real scoop for us. Bikes in the feature include Raleigh, Zenith, Triumph and Matchless stables and often multiple bikes from each manufacturer. The feature of the month has to be the restoration of a 1940 Dennis fire engine that has spent all its life in Co Sligo. With over 2000 hours having gone into his first ever attempt at a restoration, John Fallon has turned a tired vehicle into a show stopping beauty.

Along with these great features we also have a 10 week restoration of a BMW 2002 that is concourse, a look at a rare OTA tractor, and a look back at the motor racing that took place on the Wicklow circuit from 1950 – 1957. With all this and much more in Ireland’s leading monthly magazine for vintage and classic enthusiasts, don’t miss out!
