Retro Classics Issue 13 April-June 2014
Description
The April to June 2014 issue of Retro Classics Magazine is now on sale, and as always is packed with some of the finest retro and classic cars in Ireland. On the cover is one of the rarest BMW E30s in the country; the Alpina C2 2.7 doesn’t exactly grow on trees, and so this Touring estate version is a very unusual sight indeed. As it’s too good to use every day, owner Davy Salley also runs us through his daily driver E30 saloon, which features a stealthy 2.8 conversion and widened steels. A seriously reworked C3 Corvette Stingray also features in this issue, as does another classic American in the form of a ’54 Chevy pickup, but one that’s a whole lot more subtle than our air-ride cover truck last issue! For Ford fans we’ve two beauties in the form of a mild custom Corsair V4 and a mint, stock Mk2 Escort RS2000, while a home-restored VW Beetle and a race-style Hillman Imp lead a rear-engined onslaught. Events-wise there’s a lot going on in this issue, including reports on the recent RIAC National Classic Car Show in the RDS in Dublin, the largest gathering of air-cooled VWs in the country at the Jumpstart 2014 meet in Tipperary, the Derek Walker Classic Trail in Northern Ireland and plenty more besides. There’s also a reader’s survey in which you can tell us exactly what you think of Retro Classics Magazine, with the chance to win a €200 voucher from Tallaght Powder Coating for your trouble, plus a buyer’s guide on one of the best classic rally cars ever: the Volvo Amazon. Add to all this our Club Scene section, News & Products and Diary Dates listings and you’ve got another jam-packed issue.
