Following on from the success of a ‘sparkplug road run’ (strictly for petrol or TVO-powered tractors) held in Co. Meath last April, Stephen Robinson and Leslie Morrow recently decided to hold one in Northern Ireland.
They, like many others, have had enough of modern tractors participating on road runs, and the idea to bring these runs back to where they all began has proven to be a very popular one. So, the run was set for June 2012, and was to be based at Leslie Morrow’s house near Ballymena, who was delighted with a turnout of 25 tractors for the fi rst event. The run was short and stayed local due to the weather, and on return the participants were treated to refreshments in Leslie’s blacksmith’s shop. Leslie and Stephen want to thank everyone who turned up in support, especially their friend that travelled from Co. Meath, and are planning another sparkplug run for the 29th of June 2013. Numbers will be limited for this run, and you must pre-book, so for more details call Leslie on (from RoI) 0044 7710674103 or Stephen on 0044 7974649223 no later than the 14th of June.
