The Features

Trojan Work

When Troy McKeown promised himself a fully-restored Ford Escort for his 44th birthday (in deference to his old racing number) we don’t think even he knew what was in store for him, as having put in twelve months of solid work on his Cork-built 1100 Deluxe he ended up restoring another beautiful Mk1 immediately afterwards! It’s contagious, this hobby of ours…

If it’s Not Red…

“…Leave it in the shed” is the mantra of Louth-man Myles O’Reilly, and when you see Shane Cranney’s photos of his tractor collection this month you’ll understand why! Having restored his granddad’s old MF35 a few years ago Myles has caught the Massey bug big-time, and has since amassed a fantastic collection of MF tractors and implements.

MegaWatts

Young Angus Watts from Limerick doesn’t do things by halves. Having restored his first motorcycle, a BSA Bantam, at the tender age of sixteen he’s gone on to rebuild numerous others, all to his very exacting standards. The results of his latest project, this stunning Norton Atlas 750, left our Andrew in a serious state of envy; one look at his photos will show why…

A Rare Yankee

This is a very special feature, as it recounts the story of a vehicle that not only enjoys a lovely family history, but is also quite likely to be the only surviving example of its kind in the world. Des Lyons’ International Harvester L-Series truck was bought by his father, Claude, many years ago to use for promotional work for his IH dealership, and it’s recently come out of a serious restoration.

Down on Clyduff Farm

Despite only getting into the modelling hobby in a serious way a couple of years ago, John O’Brien has already put together two fantastic dioramas and carried out some excellent weathering and conversion work on his models. A farm manager by profession, his passion for agriculture has also spread to his young sons, JJ and Richie, so it’s now something of a family affair.
